Kevin Honeycutt is change agent, a keynote speaker/trainer but is first and foremost a teacher. He has been teaching for for over 23 years and I am on a mission to prepare kids for the future and to empower teachers to do the same. Kevin grew up in poverty and attended school in many cities across the United States. As he witnessed education around the country he collected powerful experiences that still influence his conversations and his work with educators. He spent 13 years teaching art K-12 in public school and for 17 years spent summers leading creative adventure camps for kids of all ages. In 1991 he received the Making IT Happen Award which is an internationally recognized awards program for educators and leaders in the field of educational technology integration in K–12 schools. The program identifies and rewards educational technology leaders around the world for their commitment and innovation.
Kathy Nimmer is the 2015 Indiana Teacher of the Year and a finalist for the national teacher of the year. A teacher at William Henry Harrison High School, Kathy will share her classroom experiences while opening Day 2 of the conference.
Nick Provenzano, the 2013 ISTE Teacher of the Year is also known as the Nerdy Teacher. He is a high school English teacher and technology curriculum specialist for Grosse Pointe Public Schools in Michigan. Nicholas also writes about education and technology on his site, TheNerdyTeacher.com. He has presented at ISTE, done consulting work for educational companies, and even interviewed Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. Nick's sessions are always filled with many eager educators and lots of inspiring information.
Matt Miller, a high school Spanish teacher in West Central Indiana is the creator of the educational blog Ditch that Textbook. After trying to do the traditional “teach by the textbook” for a few years, he launched into a textbook-less path where learning activities were often custom-produced for his students as well as infused with technology. He likes the results a lot, and his students do, too.
Don Wettrick is an Innovation Specialist at Noblesville High School, just outside Indianapolis, IN. He is the author of “Pure Genius: Building a Culture of Innovation and Taking 20% Time to the Next Level”. Wettrick has worked as a middle school and high school teacher; educational and innovation consultant; and educational speaker. Don is passionate about helping students find their educational opportunities and providing them with the digital tools they need to give them a competitive edge.
